Plans Move Forward for Angeline Street North Improvements

Kawartha Lakes – At the October 21, 2025 Council Meeting, Council received the Angeline Street North Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Completion presentation, marking a key milestone in planning future improvements to one of Lindsay’s main transportation corridors.

The presentation, led by Corby Purdy, Manager of Infrastructure Design and Construction, and representatives from Ainley Group, shared the results of the study and the preferred design for Angeline Street North between Kent Street West and Colborne Street West.

The preferred design recommends:

  • Widening Angeline Street North from the existing three lanes to five lanes, including a centre left-turn lane.
  • Intersection improvements at Kent Street West and Colborne Street West to help traffic move more safely and efficiently.

The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process included community input, technical review, and an evaluation of different options. The recommended plan will help manage current traffic volumes and support future growth in the area.

“Completing the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment is a major step toward improving transportation infrastructure in Lindsay,” said Corby Purdy, Manager of Infrastructure Design and Construction. “This process allowed us to evaluate community input and identify a solution that will serve the area well into the future.”

With Council’s receipt of the report, staff will now file the project for a 30-day public review period, as required by the Environmental Assessment Act. After that, the project will move into detailed design and future construction planning, pending budget approval.
