Request for Support for the Women’s Changemakers STEAM Event

Marlene Morrison-Nicholls and Vanessa Doucet-Roche provided an overview of the Women's Changemakers Fund and the Women's Changemakers STEAM Event that will be held at Ampere on Wednesday, March 25. The event will provide a hands-on experience for 100 girls and non-binary high school students in grades 10 to 12 with a focus on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). The event will also feature guest speakers and panelists from women in STEAM, interactive technology, art stations and an opportunity to inspire the 100 participants to engage in the world of STEAM. They asked Council to consider supporting the event.

Council approved one-time funding of $2,500 for this event.

Councillor Appointment to the Active Transportation Advisory Committee

Councillor Doble was appointed to the Active Transportation Advisory Committee until the end of the current term of Council on November 14, 2026.

Councillor Appointment to the Audit Committee

Councillors Joyce, Doble and Perry, along with Andrew Flynn, were appointed to the Audit committee, until the term ends on November 14, 2026.

Next Council Meeting

Council will return for Committee of the Whole on March 10, 2026 at 10:30 am.

Public attendance in Council Chambers is welcome. Regular and Committee of the Whole meetings will be broadcast live on the City’s YouTube Channel and on Cogeco cable television.
