Sign marks milestone for new Paramedic Headquarters in Lindsay
Kawartha Lakes – A new “Future Home of Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Headquarters” sign now marks the site of the municipality’s upcoming Paramedic Headquarters. Located at 230 Angeline Street South in Lindsay, it signals an important milestone in the project’s progress.
The Mayor, Members of Council, City staff, and Bruce Mackay, President of OPSEU Local 371, along with project partners from Salter Pilon Architecture and Ball Construction gathered on November 18 to celebrate the milestone and showcase the future home of the facility.
The land agreement for the site, between Kawartha Lakes and Trillium Lakelands District School Board, was finalized on September 1, 2025. It secures the property and allows the project to move forward with final design and site preparation. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2026, with completion anticipated in Fall 2027.
“This project means a great deal to our team,” said Sara Johnston, Chief of Paramedic Services. “It will be the first facility designed specifically for paramedics and the unique work we do every day. Bringing much of our team together under one roof will help us work more efficiently and allows us to expand to meet the growing needs of the community we’re proud to serve. Reaching this milestone is an important step forward, made possible by the strong support of our community, Council, and everyone involved in this project.”
The new headquarters will bring together paramedic services currently operating from multiple locations across Kawartha Lakes. It will also house administrative offices, training, logistics, and fleet operations. The facility will enhance efficiency and operational response capacity to better serve the community.
A formal ground-breaking ceremony with remarks is planned for Spring 2026, when construction officially begins.
