When does my garbage get picked up?
How do I know if there's a burn ban on?
For the most up-to-date burn hazard conditions, call 1-888-822-2225, then push 8. Visit our Burn Bans & Permits page to check the current burn index, read burn index definitions, learn about open air burning, fireworks and obtaining permits.
A person may have an open fire without obtaining a permit for the purpose of burning clean dry wood provided the conditions below are met, and/or providing no other City-wide or provincial burn bans are in effect. If you do not meet the below condition, you may require a burn permit.
- The fire area is no larger than 60cm (2 feet) in diameter;
- The fire area is supervised at all times by an adult person;
- The fire area is within an approved area, or pit designed for said use;
- The fire area does not violate any other laws, by-laws, rules or regulations including rules or regulations passed by any competent authority or otherwise set out in this By-law;
- The fire area shall be a minimum of fifteen 15m from any building or other structures and 5m from any fences, trees brush piles or combustible materials and property lines.
- Clean dry wood is the only material that may be burned. Painted or treated wood, leaves, grass clippings, garbage and other materials may not be burned.
- Burning is not permitted during the month of April or during any other city-wide imposed burn ban.
You can now register online for a library card. By completing the online form, you will have immediate access to our digital collection for 3 months. You can also use this membership number right away to place holds on physical items as well. Once you complete the form, your temporary membership number will be emailed to you. If you register online and place a hold on a book, you will need to show id in the branch to pick up the item and get a physical library card.
To continue using your library card after 3 months, you will need to visit one of our library branches to get a physical library card. See below for the examples of identification you will need to get your physical library card.

Can I register my property as a Short-Term Rental?
Yes, you are able to register your property as a Short-Term Rental. However, there are requirements that need to be met prior to listing your property. Resident should go over the application requirements and the Short-Term Rental By-Law.
