Kawartha Lakes – Check out these important changes coming up as we transition into summer waste management mode in May:
Kawartha Lakes – The Kawartha Lakes Environmental Advisory Committee (KLEAC) is looking for nominations for the 2024 Environmental Hero Awards. Each year, the Committee recognizes individuals, businesses and students living in Kawartha Lakes who have shown a commitment to improving the wellness of the environment.
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook bulletin is in effect for portions of the District until Friday April 18, 2025.
Kawartha Lakes – Taking care of the environment, being responsible with resources, reducing our footprint and keeping our lakes and rivers clean are shared values across Kawartha Lakes.
Earth Week runs April 20 to 26 and Earth Day is Tuesday April 22, 2025.
Kawartha Lakes – The overflow from the Fenelon Falls Wastewater System – Colborne Street and Francis Street East Sewage Pumping Stations ended Saturday April 5 at 12pm. The overflow from the Lindsay Wastewater System – Rivera Park Sewage Pumping Station ended Sunday April 6 at 12:30pm.
Kawartha Lakes – The Boil Water Advisory issued on Monday, March 31, 2025 for the Woodfield Drinking Water System located in Village of Bethany, Ontario has been rescinded by the Medical Officer of Health.
Persons using the water supply from the Woodfield Drinking Water System are no longer required to boil their drinking water. The water is safe for human consumption.
Kawartha Lakes – The Boil Water Advisory issued on Monday, March 31, 2025 for the Manorview Drinking Water System located in Village of Bethany, Ontario has been rescinded by the Medical Officer of Health.
Persons using the water supply from the Manorview Drinking Water System are no longer required to boil their drinking water. The water is safe for human consumption.
Routine sanitary sewer flushing set to begin April 7, 2025
Kawartha Lakes – Routine sanitary sewer flushing is set to begin in Kawartha Lakes this week.
The contractor will be starting in Lindsay on April 7, 2025 with one truck working in the area of Richard Avenue and Kirkconnell Road and a second truck working in the area of Thrushwood Trail and Blueberry Lane. Locations will change and will be updated as received.
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – Bancroft Work Centre is advising area residents that a Flood Warning is in effect for the Black River and Burnt River watershed in the Peterborough Bancroft District until Friday April 11, 2025.
Residents should expect water levels to rise and river flows to increase through the April 5 to April 6 weekend and into the week of April 7 to April 11. Runoff into local lakes and rivers has increased significantly with recent rainfall, snow melt, and warm weather.
