Annual Roadside Plant and Weed Control Program Begins
Kawartha Lakes – June marks the start of the City’s annual Roadside Plant and Weed Control Program, which helps control invasive and noxious plants along local roads.
What you can expect
Work will take place on weekdays between now and November 1, weather permitting, across Kawartha Lakes. Depending on the location and type of plant, the City's contractor will use a combination of methods, such as cutting, mowing and targeted herbicide applications.
The work is carried out in accordance with Ontario's Weed Control Act and Pesticides Act.
