Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week 2026 at your local library

Kawartha Lakes – Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week from October 18 to 24 by visiting your local Kawartha Lakes Public Library branch and discovering everything the library has to offer.

Libraries are so much more than just shelves of books. They’re essential community spaces that support learning, connection, and well-being. As municipal elections approach, make sure libraries are part of the conversation by being #LoudForLibraries

Being loud for your library can look like:

• Checking out materials
• Attending programs and events
• Sharing your love for libraries with others

“Ontario Public Libraries Week is a great time to visit your local library branch and discover all the ways we’re here for you,” said Jamie Anderson, Library Director. “Whether you’re looking for your next great read, fun activities to enjoy with the family, help with technology, or simply a welcoming place to connect with your neighbours, there’s something for everyone.”

Don’t miss the activities and contests for all ages throughout October, including the Bookmark Design Contest!

Bookmark Design Contest

Let your creativity shine by designing your own bookmark. Your design could win a prize and be printed for display at Kawartha Lakes Public Library branches!

Pick up a contest sheet at your local branch or download and print the contest form. Completed entries must be returned to your local branch by October 24.
