Filter room recoating starts this week

Construction Notice: Bobcaygeon Water Treatment Plant

Kawartha Lakes – The interior roof and metal components of the filter rooms at the Bobcaygeon Water Treatment Plant (34 Bolton Street, Bobcaygeon) will be recoated with paint this week.

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) operates and maintains the facility on behalf of the City. The contractor for this work is Khan and Kooper Services.

This work is expected to take four to five days to complete.

Impact to residents

To help prevent paint odours from affecting the water treatment process, the contractor will use low-odour, water-based paint and ventilation during the work. People near the water treatment plant may still notice temporary paint odours in the air while the work is taking place.

There will be a temporary shutdown of the water treatment process on June 9. No interruption to water service for residents is expected.
