Construction Notice: City Hall landscaping improvements

Kawartha Lakes – We are improving the landscaping around City Hall to make the area more welcoming, attractive, and comfortable for residents and visitors. The project will also help protect the heritage look of the building and support healthier green spaces for the future.

The project work includes:

  • Planting new gardens, shrubs, and flowers

  • Removing some trees on Francis Street that are in poor condition and replacing them with new trees

  • Adding new seating and gathering spaces for the public

  • Installing improved lighting around the building

The work is scheduled to start the week of May 25, 2026 with completion anticipated later this summer.

Impacts to residents

People may notice construction activity around parts of the City Hall property, including some noise and temporary walkway changes near work areas. All City Hall services, including the Municipal Service Centre, will remain accessible during the project.

Benefits of the project

When the work is complete, the area around City Hall will:

  • look more attractive and welcoming

  • include new places to sit and gather

  • support healthier trees and green spaces

  • better match the heritage style of the building

Thank you for your patience while this work gets underway. For more information about this and other projects, visit the Lindsay Major Projects page.
