Construction Notice: Road resurfacing starting in Fenelon Falls

Kawartha Lakes – Road work starts soon on several streets in Fenelon Falls as part of the City’s Urban Arterial Resurfacing Program. The work will help improve road conditions and provide a smoother and safer driving surface.

Road resurfacing work will take place on CKL Road 121 from approximately Ranchers Road to West Street.

The project will include:

  • Recycling old asphalt and strengthening the road base
  • Paving the road with new asphalt
  • Adding gravel to road shoulders 

Work is expected to begin the week of June 8 with anticipated completion by the end of July, weather permitting.

Additional resurfacing work in Fenelon Falls is also planned for:

  • Queen Street – Colborne Street to the northwest end
  • John Street – Bond Street to the northwest end 
  • Albert Street – Princes Street to the north end 
  • Louisa Street – Colborne Street to Knox Crescent (not shown on map) 

This work will include removing the top layer of asphalt, repairing and grading the road base, paving with new asphalt, and adjusting catch basins and maintenance holes as needed. 

Work on these streets is expected to begin the week of June 15, with completion expected by mid-July, weather permitting. 

The road work projects have been awarded to Brennan Paving & Construction Ltd. Construction hours will generally be Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm. Work on CKL Road 121 may continue until 7pm. Saturday work may take place if needed because of weather delays or other factors.  

Traffic and access  

During construction, motorists should expect lane reductions with flagging or pilot vehicle operations in place. Short delays may occur. Drivers are asked to slow down and watch for workers and equipment in the area.  

Additional construction details include: 

  • All work will take place within the City’s Right of Way
  • Driveway access will be maintained, although temporary disruptions may occur
  • Emergency access will be maintained at all times
