Construction Notice: Road work starting on CKL Road 121 near Kinmount
Kawartha Lakes – Road rehabilitation work will start soon on CKL Road 121 from CKL Road 49 to Boundary Road, excluding the Village of Kinmount.
This work is part of the municipality’s Urban Arterial Resurfacing Program, which helps improve busy roads in towns, villages, and hamlets to keep them safe and in good condition.
This project will include:
- Recycling old asphalt and paving the road with new asphalt
- Minor curb replacements
- Adding gravel to road shoulders
These improvements will help extend the life of the road and provide a smoother and safer driving surface.
The project has been awarded to Brennan Paving & Construction Ltd. Work begins the week of June 1, with completion expected by mid-August.
Construction hours will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm. Saturday work may take place if needed because of weather delays or other factors.
Traffic and access
During construction, motorists should expect lane reductions with flagging or pilot vehicle operations in place. Short delays may occur. Drivers are asked to slow down and watch for workers and equipment in the area.
Additional construction details include:
- All work will take place within the City’s Right of Way
- Driveway access will be maintained, although temporary disruptions may occur
- Emergency access will be maintained at all times
