Dr. Usman Khurshid, Dr. Kanayo Odunze, Dr. Uche Nkemdeme opening walk-in/full-time medical practice in Lindsay
Kawartha Lakes, April 27, 2026: Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Usman Khurshid, Dr. Kanayo Odunze and Dr. Uche Nkemdeme will begin a walk-in/full-time practice on May 1, 2026. The practice will be located at 86 Angeline Street South, Unit 202B.
Dr. Khurshid and Dr. Odunze will begin providing walk-in primary care services on May 1st. The office hours will be as follows: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am to 1pm; Thursdays 4pm to 8pm; and Fridays 9am to 4pm. To reach the clinic call 705-320-7705 or attend the office.
Dr. Khurshid completed his primary care training at the Allama Iqbal Medical College, Pakistan in 2011 and has been practicing in Ontario since 2013. He began discussions with Cindy Snider, KLHCI Recruitment & Retention Coordinator in late-2024, and is excited to be able to provide this service to the residents of the City of Kawartha Lakes who are without a family doctor.
Dr. Odunze completed his primary care training at the Imo State University College of Medicine, Nigeria in 2015 and has been practicing in Ontario since 2024. He is also pleased to provide this service to those residents in the City of Kawartha Lakes without a family doctor.
Dr. Uche Nkemdeme will be joining the clinic, on a full-time basis, at the beginning of June. He will be accepting patients through Health Care Connect and also assisting with the walk-in clinic. Dr. Nkemdeme also completed his primary care training at the Imo State University College of Medicine, Nigeria in 2014 and became licensed to practice in Ontario this year.
“KLHCI’s Board of Directors and Recruitment & Retention Coordinator are very pleased to be able to support this new clinic and the family physicians, especially as it will reduce the number of residents attending the Ross Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department for primary care issues,” stated Stacey Gudmundsson, KLHCI Chair.
The KLHCI Board of Directors has representation from throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes. Anyone wishing to be part of this community effort by either volunteering or donating financially to support the ongoing family doctor recruitment and retention programs are invited to contact Cindy Snider, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator at csnider@rmh.org or visit the KLHCI website at www.KawarthaLakesDoctors.org.
