Entente Education Canada supports advanced training for Kawartha Lakes Community Paramedics
The City of Kawartha Lakes Community Paramedic team is thankful to recognize Entente Education Canada (formerly RTOERO) for their generous support for continued advanced training of the Community Paramedics.
Through this funding of $4,000, Community Paramedics have received specialized education in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). This is a portable ultrasound exam, enhancing the Paramedic’s ability to assess and manage patients in the field. This innovative approach strengthens care for residents living with chronic diseases by enabling earlier detection and enhancing clinical decision making. POCUS also has the potential to reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
"Investing in advanced training and tools like POCUS allows our Community Paramedic team to deliver high quality patient focus care directly in our community", said Autumn Campbell, Community Paramedic Superintendent. "We are grateful to Entente Education Canada for helping us to expand our capabilities and better support the health and well-being of our residents".
The Community Paramedic team’s goal is to provide a proactive approach to community-based health care that improve outcomes and keep residents safely in their homes whenever possible.
