Fall leaf and yard waste curbside collection returns this November

Kawartha Lakes – Save yourself a trip to the landfill and have your fall leaf and yard waste collected curbside this November.  

Leaf and yard schedule 

Place your leaf and yard material curbside in paper bags before 7am on your designated dates.  

If your waste is collected on Mondays and Wednesdays, your leaf and yard waste collection will take place on Friday, November 6 and 20.   

If your waste is collected on Tuesdays and Thursdays, your leaf and yard waste collection will take place on Friday, November 13 and 27. 

How to prepare your yard waste 

• Place leaf and yard waste in paper bags

• Store bags in a shed, garage or under a tarp to keep them dry until your collection day. Wet bags will not be collected

• Other yard waste (e.g. branches, twigs) can be bundled with string or twine, at a size less than three feet in length and 40 pounds in weight

Do not: 

• include grass clippings, sod, root balls, stumps and branches over three inches in diameter 

• rake or blow leaves into ditches, as this can create blockages and cause drainage issues  

• place yard waste in plastic bags
