History hiding in plain sight: Join the Heritage Scavenger Hunt
Kawartha Lakes – To help celebrate the City’s 25-year anniversary, Kawartha Lakes is launching its first ever Heritage Scavenger Hunt. This fun activity is intended to showcase the historic buildings across our communities, and for residents and visitors to test their knowledge to win great local prizes.
“We're so excited to invite you to join in our Heritage Scavenger Hunt this year! We hope that it encourages everyone to investigate the way our heritage has been protected and preserved for future generations to learn from and enjoy,” said Athol Hart, Chair of the Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee. “We hope that you enjoy finding the items on the hunt as much as we enjoyed putting it together!”
To join the search, pick up a brochure from a Municipal Service Centre or download a digital version on the City’s website. Identify the historic buildings from the included clues and submit your answers when you’re finished. Brochures will also be available to pick up at Doors Open sites on Sunday September 13. Participants with the most correct answers will have a chance to win a prize.
Scavenger Hunt brochures will be available starting on the Labour Day long weekend and the contest will run until Thanksgiving. Submit your answers by Tuesday October 13.

- Heritage Planning Officer at 180 Kent Street West in Lindsay (Development Services Hub)
- One of our Service Centres in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Coboconk or Omemee
- By email to heritage@kawarthalakes.ca
