Official results of the 2026 Kawartha Lakes Municipal Election now available

Kawartha Lakes – The official results of the 2026 Kawartha Lakes Municipal Election have been certified by the City Clerk's Office and are now available at www.kawarthalakes.ca/electionresults  

What's new in the official results? 

In addition to confirming the elected Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees, the official results provide more detailed election information, including: 

Voter turnout: A total of 27,170 voters participated in the election, representing 34.2% of the 79,492 eligible voters. 

Voter participation increased compared to the 2022 Municipal Election, when 23,136 voters cast their ballots. This represents an increase of 17% or 4,034 votes. 

Mayor's race by ward: A breakdown of votes received by each mayoral candidate across all eight wards. 

Final vote counts: Certified voting results for Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees. 

Thank you to all candidates, election workers and residents who participated in the 2026 Municipal Election. 

Voters’ List  

If you still have Voting PIN Letters for people who do not reside at your address (including adult children who have moved away), please help our Election Team improve the Voters’ List for 2030. Please write ‘Return-to-Sender – Moved' on the envelope and place it in any Canada Post mailbox.  

After November 25 2026, individuals wishing to update their voter information for future elections should contact Elections Ontario at info@registertovoteon.ca or by phone at 1-866-242-3025.   

Upcoming Council meetings 

The current Council will hold its final Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday November 3, 2026 to close any remaining business items from their term of Council.  

The newly elected Council will officially begin its term with an Inaugural Council Meeting on Monday November 16, 2026.
