Register now for the 2026 Kawartha Lakes Emergency Services Golf Tournament
Kawartha Lakes – You’re invited to tee off for a great cause at the 2026 Kawartha Lakes Emergency Services Golf Tournament on August 19.
Hosted in partnership by Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service, Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service, Kawartha Lakes Police Service and the Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police, the tournament raises funds in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes – Haliburton, the Art Truax Memorial Bursary and Kawartha Lakes Food Source.
"This tournament is more than a day on the golf course. It's an opportunity for our emergency services, local businesses and residents to come together in support of initiatives that make Kawartha Lakes a safer, healthier place to live," said Police Chief Kirk Robertson. "Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just looking for a fun day with friends or colleagues, we invite everyone to join us."
The tournament features an 18-hole, four-person scramble with registration and lunch beginning at 11:30am, followed by a 12:20pm shotgun start. Registration is $175 per person and includes access to the driving range, lunch, power cart, 18 holes of golf and dinner. Golfers will also have the chance to compete for prizes, including overall mens’, ladies' and co-ed team awards, as well as longest drive and closest-to-the-pin competitions.

Art Truax Memorial Bursary
This bursary was established in 2012 to honour and memorialize Art Truax who passed away on November 30, 2011 following a long illness. He was 76. Art, who served the last term as mayor of Lindsay and the first term as mayor of the amalgamated City of Kawartha Lakes fought a very public battle with cancer after being diagnosed while serving his term as City of Kawartha Lakes mayor, but continued to live a very active life in the community, continuing his involvement with the Rotary Club of Lindsay, the Dream Ball, Kawartha Lakes Food Source and as chair of the Police Services Board. He was also one of the founding members of our tournament and a strong supporter of our Emergency Services. Art was a teacher and retired as a Superintend of Education, we felt it appropriate to create a bursary in his name to support our youth who are committed to post-secondary education.
We will present one bursary to each of our Emergency Services agencies within the City of Kawartha Lakes:
- City of Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service
-
Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service
-
Ontario Provincial Police Kawartha Lakes
-
City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service
