Community invited to share stories and memories for 25th Anniversary

Who is Kawartha Lakes' oldest lifelong resident?

Kawartha Lakes – As celebrations continue for the 25th anniversary of Kawartha Lakes, we’re looking for a very special resident: Someone whose life story is woven into the history of our community.

We want to find the oldest person living in Kawartha Lakes who has called this community home their entire life. Is this you?

More than a search for an age record, this is an opportunity to preserve memories, experiences, and stories that make Kawartha Lakes unique. From changes in our neighbourhoods and downtowns to memorable community events, family traditions, and everyday life through the decades, we want to hear a firsthand account from the person who has been here the longest, and has witnessed our history unfold.

If you think that you or a family member could be the oldest (and wisest!) lifelong resident in our community, please reach out to history@kawarthalakes.ca. We'd love to hear from you and receive a short reflection on your life in Kawartha Lakes.

The clock is ticking to find the oldest lifelong resident of Kawartha Lakes! Let us know by June 30 if this could be you (or a family member), so we can share a reflection on our community in an upcoming publication.

Submissions can be sent to history@kawarthalakes.ca.
