Child Care Fee Subsidy
Child Care Fee Subsidy helps with the cost of child care. Subsidized care is available for licensed child care centres and licensed home-based child care agencies that have an agreement with the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Eligibility
Do you have a child or children under the age of 13 who requires licensed child care because you are working, attending school or training?
Do you or your child have special needs?
Do you live in Kawartha Lakes or the County of Haliburton?
Do you require financial assistance for child care?
If you answered "yes" to any of the above, you may be eligible for the Child Care Fee Subsidy.
How do I apply?
If you have secured a space at a licensed child care program or if you would like to find out if you may be eligible in the near future, call 1-877-324-9870 #3 or apply for Child Care Fee Subsidy online to complete an intake.
An Early Years Representative will contact you within two business days to either book an appointment or collect information to determine your eligibility.

- We send a letter to the child care program informing them when your child or children can start and how much you'll be paying;
- You enroll your child or children in the program.
What if there is no funding available?
If there is no immediate subsidy funding available, we put applicants on a waiting list until funding becomes available.
Please e-mail Children's Services to keep us informed of any changes in your circumstances. Our staff will review your information once every year.
