Includes new scales and facility to manage organics

Construction Notice: Improvements at Lindsay Ops Landfill

Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes is upgrading the Lindsay Ops Landfill to improve services for residents.

WSP Inc. has been hired to oversee the project, and Youngs Excavating Inc. will complete the construction work.

What’s happening

  • Widening of the driveway entrance
  • Replacing two old scales and adding a third scale
  • Building a new facility to consolidate organics
  • Improving the resident drop-off area

Project timeline

Construction is expected to start the week of April 27, 2026.

The first phase will focus on preparing the site and building the new organics facility. This phase will take about five weeks. Work hours will be 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. After that, paving work will begin.

The Lindsay Ops Landfill will remain open. At times, one lane may be closed and traffic control will be in place. As a result, you may experience delays when visiting the site.

The full project is expected to be finished by the end of 2026.
