Information session for residents affected by April 2026 flooding
Kawartha Lakes – Residents in the Burnt River area who experienced flooding from the overflow of lakes, rivers or creeks in April 2026 are invited to attend a virtual information session about the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program.
The session will be hosted by DRAO program staff and will provide information about:
- DRAO eligibility requirements
- How to apply and what documentation is required
- What to expect during the application review process
- Available supports
- A question-and-answer period

Registration is required: Register for the DRAO information session
Before registering, residents should confirm that their property is within the designated DRAO activation area by reviewing the maps on the Ontario Disaster Recovery Assistance website.
The deadline to register is 4pm on Wednesday, October 14. Once registration is reviewed and confirmed, participants will receive a confirmation email. Instructions for joining the Microsoft Teams session will be sent approximately 48 hours before the event.
Applications for DRAO assistance must be submitted by November 16, 2026.
