Kawartha Lakes – Before your next trip to the landfill, be sure to read these updates about compost availability and textile recycling.
Free Compost Giveaway Ended
Due to high demand, the free compost giveaway at the Lindsay Landfill has ended for the season.
The City is working to make more compost available later this year. Updates will be shared if additional material becomes available.
Free wood chips are still available at the Lindsay Landfill every Wednesday from 8am to 4pm while quantities last.

Due to recent changes to the City’s textile recycling program, free textile recycling is temporarily unavailable at the Eldon, Fenelon, Laxton and Somerville landfill sites. Textiles brought to these locations will still be accepted, but will be disposed of as waste and regular tipping fees will apply.
Free textile recycling remains available at the Lindsay Landfill until further notice.
Textiles at Round Up Days
At this time, textiles can only be recycled at the June 20 Round Up Day event in Carden.
