Municipal hours of operation for Thanksgiving 2026
Kawartha Lakes – Please note the following changes to our hours of operation and service schedules due to the holiday on Monday October 12, 2026 (Thanksgiving).
Administration Offices
All Administration offices and Municipal Service Centres are closed on Monday, October 12 and will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, October 13.
Waste Collection and Landfills
Please see the Thanksgiving landfill schedule below.

Fenelon: 9am to 5pm

Somerville: 11am to 5pm

Eldon: 11am to 5pm

Laxton: 11am to 5pm
All landfills will return to regular operating hours on Tuesday, October 13.
Please remember that curbside waste, recycling and organics collection will shift forward one day due to the Thanksgiving Holiday:

Monday, October 12 collection moves to Tuesday, October 13

Tuesday, October 13 collection moves to Wednesday, October 14

Wednesday, October 14 collection moves to Thursday, October 15

Thursday, October 15 collection moves to Friday, October 16
As a reminder, organics are now collected on the same day as your regular garbage pick up.
Public Library
All library branches will be closed on Monday, October 12, with regular operating hours returning on Tuesday, October 13.
Our Digital Library is open every day of the year! Library patrons can access books, audio books, magazines and research databases online. All you need is your Kawartha Lakes Public Library card.
Lindsay Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on Monday, October 12. Regular service will resume on Tuesday, October 13.
Parks and Recreation
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed and programming cancelled on Monday, October 12. This includes the administrative office, all recreation centres, arenas and pools.
Public skating will take place at the Lindsay Recreation Complex and public swimming will take place at Forbert Memorial Pool on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11. Visit our Online Program Registration website to view schedules.
