Kawartha Lakes – Kawartha Lakes is proud to announce the 2024 graduates of the Kawartha Lakes Starter Company Plus program. The graduates were officially recognized and received their certificates during a special ceremony at the Kawartha Lakes Committee of the Whole meeting on February 4, 2025.
Kawartha Lakes – On January 19 to 21, Mayor Elmslie and Councillors Yeo and Joyce attended the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) conference in Toronto with CAO Ron Taylor. The conference was attended by 2,000 municipal representatives, provincial Ministers, Members of Provincial Parliament including MPP Laurie Scott, the (NDP) and Liberal opposition parties. ROMA is an annual opportunity to bring pressing local issues forward to provincial ministers and their staff.
Notice: There will be temporary service disruptions at the Lindsay Recreation Complex, which will restrict elevator access to Pad 1 and the Community Room viewing areas due to private events happening on the following dates and times:
Kawartha Lakes - In November of last year, Parks Canada released an update advising that work was beginning on the installation of the permanent end lifts for the Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge. These vertical end lifts are critical in ensuring the bridge seals tightly to the abutments during swings.
All other areas within the facility are open and operating on regular schedule with no impact caused from these events.
The purpose of the consent application is to facilitate the severance of the property to create one (1) new residential lot to contain a future single detached dwelling.
A Minor Variance application (D20-2024-114) has been submitted and is being processed concurrently with the Consent application.
Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes and the County of Haliburton are on a mission to better understand the housing needs and experiences of residents across our communities. Through an online survey, the public has the opportunity to share their thoughts on affordable housing, barriers to access, and the connection between housing and community well-being.
The purpose of the consent applications is to facilitate the severance of the property to create three (3) new residential lots, each to contain a future single detached dwelling. From North to South, the proposed lots are referred to as Lot 1, Lot 2, and Lot 3. The retained lot is to be the southern most lot.
Kawartha Lakes – The Council of the City of Kawartha Lakes intends to pass a by-law at the January 28, 2025 Regular Council Meeting to approve and implement the naming of an existing Ministry of Transportation owned public service road being a northerly extension of Homestead Drive north of Riverwood Park Road in the former Township of Ops to be formally named “Homestead Drive”.
