Sand Bar Park Playground

The City of Kawartha Lakes, Parks and Recreation division will be completing a capital project for playground improvements at Sand Bar Park. This project is expected to be complete by July 2026.

Why This Work is Needed:

The current playground is at the end of its lifecycle. Replacement and improvements are required to provide safe, challenging and current play care amenities for residents.

Scope of Work:

Replacement and improvements are to include the following amenities:

  • two slides
  • various climbers
  • interactive areas
  • bridge
  • spinner
  • spring rider
  • spring bouncer
  • swing set with adaptive swing seat

Access Impacts:

The playground will be securely fenced and off limits to patrons for the duration of construction. Upon completion and final compliance inspection, the playground will be accessible for visitors to enjoy.
