Requests

The Mayor's Office offers certificates of congratulations to Kawartha Lakes residents celebrating milestone birthdays or anniversaries in our community.

You can request a Certificate of Congratulations from the Mayor or your local Councillor online. Please allow two weeks for certificate preparation.

If you would like to send a note of thanks or a letter to the Mayor and/or Council on a particular topic, please send to:

Days of Significance refer to a day, week, or month that is used to recognize a cause, memorial, event or other significant initiative.

If you would like to request an external Day of Significance, such as a flag-raising or Council recognition, members of the public may follow the application process by completing the Days of Significance Request Form.

Please note there is criteria for such requests to be accepted and forms should be completed 60 days prior to the date being requested. Requests will be confirmed based on the criteria and on a first come, first served basis.

The Mayor's Office receives invitations for the Mayor and/or Councillors to attend significant events in the community. Please try to give us as much notice as possible as there are many events in Kawartha Lakes.

If the Mayor is unavailable for your event, the Mayor's Office may suggest having the Deputy Mayor or local Councillor attend your event in place of the Mayor.

The Mayor's Office, in coordination with the Clerk's Office, also receive requests from schools for tours of City Hall.

If you have a class or group of students who would like to see City Hall and have an opportunity to speak with the Mayor and one of our Clerks, please contact the Mayor's Office to coordinate a day and time: 705-324-9411 ext. 1310 or by email.

Media requests are coordinated through the City's Communications division. To arrange interviews or request official comments for publications, please reach out to our Communications team.
