Kawartha Lakes offers Outdoor Ice Rink opportunities during the winter months. Please be advised that Outdoor Ice Rinks are subject to weather conditions. Hours of operation and opening/closing dates may vary. Skaters must wear helmets at all times.

Community Outdoor Ice Rinks are maintained and operated throughout the season by community volunteers. Rinks are subject to weather conditions and hours of operation may vary.

Please note: Logie Park Skating Loop is not a Community Operated Outdoor Ice Rink, it is a refrigerated outdoor Skating Loop and operated by municipal staff.
Community Outdoor Ice Rink Rules and Regulations
- The City of Kawartha Lakes is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage caused by the use of the skating rink. Use at own risk, the rink is unsupervised and self regulated.
- CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.
- No smoking or vaping on or within 25 meters of the rink.
- Strollers are not permitted on the ice surface.
- Skaters are encouraged to skate at a sensible and safe speed in the same direction as other skaters at all times.
- All participants must be wearing skates while on the ice surface.
- Speed skating, figure skating, backward skating, participation in horseplay, skating games, and carrying children while on the ice will not be permitted.
- Please share the space respectfully to ensure all users can enjoy their time. The rink is for general skating only. However, skaters can play hockey when the rink is not in use by others. Your cooperation and consideration of all users will ensure the safety of all participants.
- Stay off rink when closed.
Assumption of risk
Skaters and spectators are deemed to have knowledge of and assume the inherent risks including, but not limited to:
- Injuries from collisions or contact with other individuals on the ice surface;
- Injuries from falls.

Logie Park Skating Loop
This winter Jump In and loop de loop at the Logie Park Skating Loop! Open to the public and free to use, this outdoor refrigerated skating loop is 133 linear feet by 91 linear feet. Features include benches, padded floor in change area, and a natural stone seating area for skaters to sit and rest during their skate.

Logie Park Skating Loop Rules and Regulations
- Skate aids will not be permitted
- The ice area is for skating only; no sticks, pucks or other equipment will be permitted
- Strollers are not permitted on the ice surface
- CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters
- Skaters are encouraged to skate at a sensible and safe speed in the same direction as other skaters at all times
- All participants must be wearing skates while on the ice surface
- Speed skating, figure skating, backward skating, participation in horseplay, skating games, and carrying children while on the ice will not be permitted
- Do not visit parks and outdoor ice rinks if you are not feeling well

Volunteers Needed!
The Parks and Recreation Division is seeking volunteers to assist with winter maintenance at a variety of Outdoor Community Ice Rinks this winter!
Community operated Outdoor Ice Rinks are prepared by Parks staff and maintained throughout the season by community volunteers.
Volunteer duties would include but are not limited to:
- Shoveling snow from the ice surface
- Watering down the rink
- Ensuring the skating surface is in overall good condition for enjoyment of all community members.
The deadline for applications is December 10, 2025. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, or accompanied by an adult.
