Kawartha Farmfest

The Roost Farm is celebrating all things maple. We are eager to welcome you to our 5th generation farm to learn about the maple experience, as well as our chickens, turkeys and Christmas trees.

• Watch wool darning and spinning
• Hop on the tractor-pulled wagon for a tour around the farm ($)

Ongoing: Learn about maple, see demonstrators working with wool, take a wagon ride ($), see chickens, turkeys and Christmas trees, play games, or taste farm foods ($).

• Collect your own eggs, if you choose to purchase eggs from our laying hens ($).

• Meet our friendly goats and sheep who love to snack on grain.

• View our beef cows out in the pasture.

• See the large farm equipment we use to plant and harvest the feed for our animals.

• Visit our farm store to stock up on our frozen meats and eggs

• Satisfy your desert cravings with delicious butter tarts, pies and other baked goods lovingly baked in Grandma's certified home kitchen.

• Plan lunch at the farm from our hot-dog cart. 

Ongoing: Meeting the goats and sheep, seeing farm equipment, viewing the turkeys and chickens. Collect the eggs for your purchase to take home ($). Hot dogs for sale and farm shop with meats and eggs to take home. 

Location: 1394 Kawartha Lakes County Road 121 Fenelon Falls. Take Hwy 121 north from Fenelon Falls approximately 6 km. The farm is on the right, just before the curve.

Tour the 15 acre organic vegetable, beef and poultry farm dedicated to growing 75 variety of vegetables in the field and with high tunnels and greenhouses.

• Guided tours of the farm will be available.
• Visitors can see the cold storage, greenhouses and vegetable wash station.
• Cultivation is powered by our four heavy draft horses. 
• Visit the cows and calves, pigs, miniature horses and chickens.
• Visit Farm Star Petting zoo by donation to sit with bunnies, groom miniature horses, and lead the goats($).
• Fresh organic produce, meat, honey preserves and apples will be available for purchase ($). 

Ongoing: Tours of the vegetable fields and greenhouses, visit animals, petting zoo entry by donation ($), purchase farm fresh produce, honey, apples, and frozen meats.

Come and help us celebrate our 24th year of Pumpkinfest.

• See giant pumpkins and maybe even learn the secret behind growing them so big!

• Try your luck at guessing the weight of the giant pumpkin to win a gift basket.

• Farmfest participants get discounted entry to our haunted corn maze - $8 per person or $32 per family of 4 or more ($). 

• Kids can get their face painted and try their hand at the fun games around the farm.

• We have so many pumpkins, squash, and gourds to choose from ($)

• Check out the local vendors selling their products.

• Visit the craft shed to find fall decorations, flower arrangements, decorative corn, wreaths, fall crafts, gourd art, preserves, honey, and tasty pumpkin bread ($).

• Try out our full line of homemade soaps, body butters, and lotions, often made with our own beeswax and honey ($).

• Bring your appetite for our hot dog lunch special ($).

• Washrooms available. 

Ongoing: Farmfest participants can guess the weight of a giant pumpkin, walk the corn maze ($), vote for the best monster in the maze, play corn hole, basketball, play area, pick your own pumpkins ($), purchase farm products, hot dog lunch($) and crafts ($).

You can take a guided tour of our beautiful horse farm and meet our friendly animals.

• We have horses, sheep, chickens, hatching chicks, and alpacas.
• You can enjoy a peaceful walk along our scenic forest trail and explore our themed mini maze through the woods.
• Discover exciting kids' activities set up throughout the property.
• Make bird seed pine cone bird feeder to take home or hang in the forest at the farm.
• If you are looking for an extra special experience for the kids, you can pay for a mini equestrian lesson (pony ride) ($).
• Animal treats ($) are available for you to purchase to give you an added chance to interact with our amazing animals.

Ongoing: Visit horses and other animals, mini equestrian lesson ($5), kids activities, feed the animals ($5), walking trail, scavenger hunt maze in the forest, food ($) and other vendors ($).
