Development Concierge Program

If your project is accepted into the Development Concierge Program, you will have a dedicated City contact who will help you:

• understand the municipal development process and what is required at each stage;
• connect with the appropriate City departments and external agencies;
• coordinate communication across the project team;
• identify outstanding requirements, dependencies and next steps;
• work through project issues as they arise; and
• access other Economic Development services and business supports that may benefit your project.

The program does not replace required planning, building, engineering or other approvals. Instead, it provides additional coordination to help you understand and navigate those processes.

Depending on your project, your concierge will coordinate with staff across the City, which may include:

• Economic Development
• Planning
• Building
• Development Engineering
• Realty Services
• other City departments and external agencies, as required

Your Economic Development Officer serves as your primary point of contact and helps coordinate communication across the project.

Successful projects require ongoing communication between the applicant, consultants and the City.

As part of the Development Concierge Program, we ask applicants to provide complete information and submissions, respond to comments and questions, and keep the concierge informed of significant project changes.

In return, your concierge will help coordinate communication, clarify next steps and connect you with the appropriate staff throughout the development process.

1. Discovery call
Tell us about your project, proposed location, timeline and development needs.

2. Kick-off meeting
Meet the City staff involved in your project and discuss requirements, responsibilities and next steps.

3. Applications and submissions
Submit the required development applications, plans and supporting documents.

4. Coordinated review
City departments and applicable agencies review the project. Your concierge helps coordinate communication and track key issues.

5. Approvals and permits
Complete outstanding requirements and obtain the approvals and permits needed for your project.

6. Ongoing support
Your concierge remains available to help coordinate your project through development and connect you with other Economic Development supports.
