Opportunities
Summer Day Camp Volunteer Positions
Do you like working with kids and want to improve your leadership skills? If so, consider volunteering with our Summer Camp programming.
Camp volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
Potential volunteers will be required to under go our screening process, including an interview and reference check.
There will be a mandatory volunteer training session to support volunteers in their roles.

Lindsay Milk Run Volunteer Opportunities
The Lindsay Milk Run takes place annually every July.
Volunteers are required to assist with the event in various roles, such as:
- Course Marshals
- Event set up and tear down
- Water Stations
- Food Station
- Traffic Attendants
- Registration

Aquatics Volunteer Program
Are you looking to complete your high school community service hours? Are you looking for experience helping to instruct swimming lessons? Do you have your Bronze Medallion or higher? If you said yes to the above questions then we have the opportunity for you.
Come join our Aquatic Volunteer team and gain valuable life and work skills/experience while completing your community service hours. Opportunities include assisting with swimming lessons, helping out at Fun Swims and other Special events.
Anyone interested in volunteering must attend a training lesson prior to starting.
Pre-requisites: Bronze medallion or higher and 13 years of age.

Community Outdoor Rink Volunteer Opportunities
The Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Division is seeking volunteers to assist with winter maintenance at a variety of Outdoor Community Rinks this winter. Community operated Outdoor Ice Rinks are prepared by Parks staff and maintained throughout the season by community volunteers.
Volunteer duties would include but are not limited to, shoveling snow from the ice surface, watering down the rink and ensuring the skating surface is in overall good condition for enjoyment of all community members.

Kawartha Lakes Public Library Adult Volunteers
Do you have a special skill that you'd like to share with others? The library is currently looking for volunteers who would be interested in presenting library programming. If you have a skill that you think others would be interested in learning, we'd love to hear about it! All ideas are welcome.
Some suggested skills that may make interesting library programs could include:
- Crafting
- Sewing
- Gardening
- Photography
- Woodworking

Special Event and Program Assistants
The Parks and Recreation Division offers a variety of special events and programs throughout the year that provide volunteers with an opportunity to gain valuable volunteer hours and take an active role in their community.
Positions could include, but are not limited to:
- March Break activities
- Seasonal events
- Concerts in the Park
- Lindsay Milk Run
- Public Skating
- Recreation and Special event programming

Volunteer Management Committees
Volunteer Management Committees are established by the Parks and Recreation Division to manage the day-to-day operations of various Community Centres.
Volunteering on a committee is a great way to:
- Meet new people and share your ideas and talents
- Support local community centres and parks
- Make a difference in your community
The Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Division is looking for volunteers to join the following Volunteer Management Committees:

Applicant Eligibility
- A resident of the municipality (own, rent, live in shared accommodation where you do not pay rent or live in the municipality with no fixed address); or
- An owner of property in the municipality or a person who rents property in the municipality, or a spouse of the above; and
- A minimum of eighteen years of age; and
- A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
Term of Appointment
Unless exempted by legislation, members will be appointed for a term of a maximum of four years with terms expiring at the full term of Council. Members shall continue to serve beyond the end of their term until the appointments of their successorts have been approved by the liaison Department.
