Take Notice that, pursuant to By-law 2018-020, as amended, the Council of The Corporation of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hear a proposal to declare a portion of road allowance for Eldon Station Road legally described as Part of the Original 66' Road Allowance Between Lots 20 and 21, Concession 6, Eldon, City of Kawartha Lakes, surplus to its needs at its Regular Council Meeting to be held on July 22, 2025 commencing at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario. City Council is scheduled to proceed to pass a by-law to stop up and close that part of the road allowance and authorize the sale of the land to the adjacent property owner.

Recognition of Years of Service Milestones for Kawartha Lakes employees
Kawartha Lakes – The Olde Gaol Building that hosts the Kawartha Lakes Museum and Archives, will be undergoing significant repairs over the next several months. The repairs are to restore the building envelope of this iconic heritage building.
Kawartha Lakes –The municipality will provide a total of $10,000 in Canada Day funding to support eight communities in Kawartha Lakes celebrating Canada Day. The funding is in addition to the $14,000 in support received from the Federal government through the Canadian Heritage Celebrate Canada Program.
Kawartha Lakes – This week is Paramedic Services Week. From May 18 to May 24, please join us in recognizing the Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service for everything they do for our community.
Kawartha Lakes – The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC) represents 103 municipalities throughout Eastern Ontario. On May 13, the EOWC held a historic Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park, successfully uniting municipal leaders with Premier Doug Ford, Cabinet Ministers, and Members of Provincial Parliament in order to advance shared priorities.
Kawartha Lakes – We’re upgrading the roof and replacing the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Roof Top Units (RTU) at the Fenelon Falls Library Branch.

Logie St. Sewage Pumping Station and Ridout St. Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades – Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The City of Kawartha Lakes (City) is currently planning to upgrade the wastewater collection system for the community of Lindsay. The community of Lindsay is rapidly expanding with new developments and upgrades to the wastewater collection system are required to support the increasing needs of the residents of the community.
Take Notice that the Council of the City of Kawartha Lakes, on April 22, 2025, passed a resolution of intent to designate the following property under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.18, as a property of cultural heritage value or interest:
Kawartha Lakes – In preparation for future waste disposal at the Somerville landfill, construction on a new landfill cell began on Monday May 5, 2025. The estimated completion date of the project is Friday May 30, 2025.
