Logie St. Sewage Pumping Station and Ridout St. Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades – Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The City of Kawartha Lakes (City) is currently planning to upgrade the wastewater collection system for the community of Lindsay. The community of Lindsay is rapidly expanding with new developments and upgrades to the wastewater collection system are required to support the increasing needs of the residents of the community.
Take Notice that the Council of the City of Kawartha Lakes, on April 22, 2025, passed a resolution of intent to designate the following property under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.18, as a property of cultural heritage value or interest:
Kawartha Lakes – In preparation for future waste disposal at the Somerville landfill, construction on a new landfill cell began on Monday May 5, 2025. The estimated completion date of the project is Friday May 30, 2025.
Kawartha Lakes – In response to the recent ice storm, the municipality launched a curbside storm debris clean-up program to help residents with fallen tree and brush debris.

Kawartha Lakes – Our landfill hours are changing temporarily on Friday May 23, 2025.
The Lindsay Ops landfill will only be open from 8am to 11am on Friday May 23. It returns to regular hours on Saturday May 24 from 8am to 3pm.
Kawartha Lakes – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) Detachment wants to hear from you.
The OPP updates their Strategic Plan every three years. As a part of that process, every detachment develops a new Detachment Action Plan to address local priorities and concerns.

Kawartha Lakes – May 14 is Apraxia Awareness Day, a time to raise awareness and understanding of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), a rare motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to plan and produce the movements needed for speech. Childhood apraxia affects one in one thousand children.
Kawartha Lakes – Kawartha Lakes has joined the first-ever province wide campaign to tackle 9-1-1 misuse, an issue that continues to strain emergency services. The Emergency Services Steering Committee (ESSC) has launched the "When Every Second Counts" campaign aimed at reducing non-emergency 9-1-1 calls and educating the public on proper use of 9-1-1.
Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes has retained Four Seasons Site Developments Ltd. to undertake a pavement-resurfacing project on Ski Hill Road (CKL Road 38) from Highway 7 to Highway 7A.
