Kawartha Lakes – The 2025 Kawartha Lakes Business Count is well underway. Thanks to strong participation and local support, 770 businesses have completed surveys to date. The project is well on track to reach the goal of 965 businesses participating across the municipality.
Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes wishes to notify residents and visitors of Bobcaygeon who are on municipal water services, to implement water conservation measures effective Tuesday July 22, 2025, until further notice.
Kawartha Lakes – A new campaign is rolling out in Kawartha Lakes to keep sidewalks safe and welcoming for everyone. The Walk your Wheels public awareness campaign reminds residents to walk their bikes, scooters and skateboards when using sidewalks. As one of the videos states, “Sidewalks are for strolling. Kawartha Lakes – Kawartha Art Gallery is proud to announce the launch of Seniors for Seniors, an innovative new outreach program designed by seniors for seniors. This sensory-based visual arts initiative brings practicing senior artists into long-term care homes, delivering engaging and inclusive workshops that foster creativity, connection, and well-being among participants. The program is designed to promote social participation, reduce isolation, and strengthen community ties through shared creative expression. In addition to supporting residents, the program also follows government mandates to hire senior artists, keeping them busy and productive.
Kawartha Lakes – Parks and recreation facilities and programs are essential to enhancing quality of life and building vibrant, healthy communities. The City of Kawartha Lakes has developed a draft Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan to guide the delivery of recreational services over the next 15 years.
Kawartha Lakes – Prep work has started for the Colborne Street West road widening project. Hydro One has been moving hydro poles and local internet providers are moving their infrastructure in the area as well.
The road widening contract has been awarded and the contractor began mobilizing equipment and signage in the area during the week of July 14.
Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes is asking residents and visitors to reduce non-essential water use during the hot summer months. As temperatures rise, people use more water, which puts extra pressure on our municipal drinking water systems.
City of Kawartha Lakes — The Kawartha Lakes Haliburton Ontario Health Team (KLH-OHT), in collaboration with Kawartha North Family Health Team is going to receive over $3.4 million from the Ministry of Health to expand interprofessional primary health care teams. Our local plan will help to connect up to 6,902 people to primary care in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County. This investment is part of the government’s $2.1 billion Primary Care Action Plan that will help connect 300,000 people to primary care this year.

Kawartha Lakes – Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Lindsay and Southern Kawartha Lakes as a heat event is expected to bring a prolonged period of near heat warning levels beginning, Friday July 11, 2025. Dangerously hot and humid temperatures could last until Thursday July 17, 2025.
