Kawartha Lakes – Lindsay Transit is updating the Red Route to improve route efficiency and better serve the community.
Starting on Sunday June 29, the following changes will take effect:
New stop at Lindsay Exhibition: the Red Route will add a stop at the Lindsay Exhibition on Exhibition Drive. After picking up or dropping off passengers, the bus will proceed to Nelson Way and use the bus turnaround loop to return to Exhibition Drive and continue on Angeline Street South.
Take notice, that the Committee of Adjustment of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hold a Public Meeting on June 26, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Council Chambers City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario, to consider minor variance/permission applications, D20-2025-046, D20-2025-047, D20-2025-048, D20-2025-049, D20-2025-050, D20-2025-051, D20-2025-052, D20-2025-053, D20-2025-054 and D20-2025-055. A number of applications will be considered at this meeting. The applications are considered in the order that they appear on the Agenda and it may take some time before an application is dealt with at the meeting. The minor variance/permission applications being considered are listed below:

Myasthenia Gravis is a long-term autoimmune disorder that causes extreme tiredness and serious muscle weakness. It can make everyday things very difficult: like walking, smiling, talking, or even breathing.
On June 9, the lights at City Hall in Lindsay will shine purple in recognition and support of Myasthenia Gravis Awareness Month.

Kawartha Lakes — With active wildfires continuing in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health (Health Unit) are closely monitoring local air quality conditions through Environment Canada’s Air Quality Health Index. As smoke from these fires may begin to affect the region, the Health Unit is providing important health guidance, resources, and tips to help residents stay informed and prepared for potential environmental and health impacts.

Kawartha Lakes – Pride Month 2025 is a vibrant celebration honoring the history, achievements, and ongoing efforts of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Throughout June, and extending into July in Kawartha Lakes, events will be held that promote inclusivity, diversity, and unity.
On June 5, 2025, Kawartha Lakes held a Pride flag-raising ceremony at City Hall in Lindsay.
Kawartha Lakes – At the Committee of the Whole meeting on June 3, 2025, the seventeenth annual Accessibility Awareness Recognition Award winners were announced. These awards recognize individuals, groups and businesses in Kawartha Lakes that have exceeded expectations while working to remove barriers for individuals with disabilities or increase public awareness within the community.
