Kawartha Lakes – Mental Health Week 2025 is this week, May 5 to 11. People in Kawartha Lakes are joining others across Canada to talk about mental health. This year, the theme is "Unmasking Mental Health." We want to look at how hiding our feelings and staying silent can hurt people who have mental health or substance use problems.
Kawartha Lakes – Today, Kawartha Lakes acknowledges the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S), also known as Red Dress Day. This day is recognized on May 5. It is a time to remember and honour the Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people who have been taken from their families and communities.
