Film Permit Application
Film permits are required when using municipal assets such as road networks, buildings, parks and/or require municipal services such as paid duty officers, exemptions to bylaws, pyrotechnics, waste management.
Where filming on private property, the office encourages film productions to contact the film office at film@kawarthalakes.ca to ensure there are no requirements associated with the private initiative. Staging of base camp may take parking spots, traffic interruptions or use of sidewalks may require permitting, traffic plans or paid duty officers. Notification of film activity to municipal staff and emergency services may also provide a courtesy so that appropriate notification and communication to the neighbourhood occurs ensuring a smooth shoot and happy residents.
