Recycling changes now in effect in Kawartha Lakes
As of January 1, 2026, residential recycling in Kawartha Lakes is managed by Circular Materials, a not-for-profit organization appointed by producers under Ontario’s new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework.

The purpose of the proposed consent is to address an existing encroachment at 40 Ellice Street, by permitting a lot line adjustment and transfer of a portion of subject land (legally described as Plan 57, Lots 175-180) to 40 Ellice Street (legally described as Part Lot D, Plan 57) in the Geographic Township of Fenelon Falls, now City of Kawartha Lakes.
Kawartha Lakes - As the power has been restored to the vast majority of homes in Kawartha Lakes and all municipal infrastructure, Mayor Elmslie has rescinded the State of Emergency declaration, effective today.

Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes Emergency Operations Centre met today to assess ongoing storm recovery efforts and plan for the next phase of clean up. Premier Ford visited on the weekend to understand the extent of the damage. The Premier thanked front line staff including Fire, Paramedics, OPP and Kawartha Lakes Police Services. MPP Laurie Scott also attended.
Kawartha Lakes – Effective as of 4:30pm on Monday April 14, 2025 (today), Kawartha Lakes has ended the Significant Weather Event that was declared on March 29, 2025 per O. Reg. 239/02 of the Municipal Act 2001.
Service levels for the roads are now back to normal and the Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS) and Council Policy targets are being met.

Administration Offices
All administration and Municipal Service Centres are closed during regular hours of operation on Friday April 18 (Good Friday). Municipal Service Centres will return to regular business hours on Monday April 21.
Notice: There will be temporary service disruptions at the Lindsay Recreation Complex, which will restrict elevator access to Pad 1 and the Community Room viewing areas due to private events happening on the following dates and times:
