Pet Licenses
Pets (dogs and cats) in Kawartha Lakes must be licensed for the current calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Licenses are available for purchase at any of the Municipal Service Centres, through the mail, or by using our online form below. To update your personal information, proof of vaccination or animal status please contact Municipal Law Enforcement and Licensing division
Residents are limited to 4 dogs, 4 cats, or a combined total of 8 animals on a property, unless an exemption under the by-law applies.
Some properties or situations may qualify for an exemption. Please refer to By Law 2021-072 for details or contact Municipal Law Enforcement if you have questions about your specific circumstances.

Dogs:
- Annual tag for spayed/neutered dog (with proof): $45.00
- Annual tag for unaltered dog: $50.00
- Lifetime tag for dog: $100.00
- Replacement tag: $30.00
- Special services dog (with proof): no charge
- Livestock guardian dog (with proof): no charge
